Photoshop Twirl Neon Text Effect
So back to posting the old Photoshop tutorials that used to exist on Kyscorp. Many of you emailed me asking for those especially the ones related to Text effects. So I am just starting with this one: Photoshop Twirl Neon Text Effect. It is an old tutorial that was created for Adobe Photoshop 7 but you can of course use Photoshop CS, CS2 or CS3. More old tutorials will be posted soon…
Well in this tutorial you will learn how to make some cool effect with your text I called it Twirl Neon Text Effect, hope you will like it:
- Create a new file 200X100 with a black background
- Type your text with white font
- Merge down the text layer into the background (hit ctrl+E)

- Go to Filter >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur. Set the radius to 1.2 pixels
- Apply solorize effect: Filter >> Stylize >> Solarize.

- Hit ctrl+shift+L to apply auto levels
- Go to Filter >> Disort >> Polar coordinates and choose “polar to rectangular”
- Then apply Filter >> Stylize >> Wind >> from right.

- Go to Filter >> Disort >> Polar coordinates and choose “rectangular to polar”
- Go to Image >> Adjustments >> Hue/Satursation check the colorize box to put some color in it as I did
- Hit ctrl+shift+L to apply auto levels
- Go to Filter >> Disort >> Polar coordinates and choose “polar to rectangular”
- Then apply Filter >> Stylize >> Wind >> from left this time.
- Go to Filter >> Disort >> Polar coordinates and choose “rectangular to polar”
- Use the auto levels + Hue/Satursation to find exactly what you want !!
