Natural leadership is a Truth but it has to be nurtured!

I think that Leadership skills and qualifications can be taught and coached. For that you need very good trainers and mentors. I have always thought that there’s no substitute for accurate and deep knowledge that helps you be more confident and more strong to lead. A true leader is the one who teaches and helps his followers to become leaders themselves. One of my strongest beliefs is that in order to really lead people, you have to “walk behind them”! In other words you have to help them advance and help them go forward! In such context, there is no substitute for accurate knowledge! Know yourself, Improve yourself, know your business, improve your business and finally know your “men”. Then you can be a leader.

If you have this kind of reasoning you will push yourself to have time to LEARN!

However I think that some personalities and personal features make some leader better, more successful and more influential than others. One of the most interesting facts I read about and that is statistically proved is that CEOs with lower-pitched voices earned an average of $187,000 a year more than CEOs with higher-pitched voices! This CEO study backs up previous laboratory research that demonstrated that voters prefer politicians with deep voices.
A natural leader has a strong personality and that’s why natural leader are not afraid of asking questions when needed. They are characterized with prompt forward thinking, indeed, natural leaders will instinctively solve problems sometimes even before the issue is clear to others. A leader that’s perceived as such by his team will be asked for help and will help. Natural leader are naturally charismatic and are quickly noticed.

What do you think? Do some of us have natural barriers within themselves that hold them from being a strong leader even if they learn a lot about leadership?
I’ve started a discussion on Linkedin about this matter feel free to comment here (on the blog) or on Linkedin!
